One on One Moves and tips.....
Basketball MovesBasketball Move #1: Jab Step and Go
Then you will jab step towards that foot, trying to get the defender off balance. Once you have jab step all in one motion you will make a hard move towards that direction.
Basketball Move #2: Jab and Cross Step
What you are trying to do is get the defender to react to you. Once you have jab step which ever foot you chose to jab step with. You are now going to bring that same foot across your body making sure your body is between the ball and the defender. Now you have created separation from the defender and made a open lane toward the basketball.
Basketball Move #3: Step Back
The first thing you have to do is get your shoulders by the defender. Well you say how do I do that? Always remember the game of basketball is play low to high. Which means in a one on one situation which ever opposition is lower whether it be the defense or offense will win that battle. So again the first thing we are going to do is get our shoulders by the defense with either a jab and go or shot fake. Now once you get by the defender. You will have to realize the defender is now trying to be you to the spot. So with your inside foot planted hard into the court, then push off which will create separation and with a final inside out dribble away from the defender you have now created space for a jump shot. Watch Tracey Mcgrady and Ray Allen very closely next time. And see how they use this move to perfection everytime they are in a one on one clear out.
